Old pottery from Missouri is being sold on eBay, with a buyer claiming to have found a “lost” piece.
The seller, who goes by the name of Kody, said she found the missing piece after digging through a pile of pieces from a collection that she has since lost.
She said she has sold a few pieces from her collection since buying the pieces in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
She has been trying to sell them for a while, but hasn’t been able to find anyone willing to pay for them.
She sold one piece for $400 on eBay last week, but only sold it a week later for $800, she told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The pieces she sold were not from her home state of Missouri, but rather from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, she said.
She hopes to find someone willing to buy the pieces from someone who has seen them, she added.
The auction ended on Thursday, but Kody says she still has more pieces to sell.
The buyer did not return a call seeking comment.
Kody told the AP she found one of the pieces during her digging and had been looking for a few weeks.
She was able to get the piece to a local antique shop and had the pieces appraised for $2,000.
The owner of the antique shop told the newspaper that the buyer did contact her about the piece and offered to sell it, but it never came to fruition.
